Welcome to the East Brunswick Kindergarten and Childcare Centre

East Brunswick Kindergarten and Childcare Centre is a not-for-profit community based centre, sponsored by Moreland City Council and run by a voluntary Committee of Management comprised of parents and guardians.

We offer a range of high quality early learning programs for children aged 3-6 years, including;

  • Sessional state subsidised 4 year old Kindergarten programs (15 hours per week)
  • Early learning programs for 3 year olds, and
  • Long day care for 3-6 year olds.

The primary aims of our programs are to recognise the value of children's play in the learning process and to recognise that each child will develop and learn in their own way and at their own pace. Emphasis is placed on creativity and the learning process rather than on the end product, with particular recognition of the child’s need for space, time, materials, adult support and guidance. Our programs are carefully planned, based on observations, needs and interests of individual children and of the group.

Acknowledgment of Country

In the spirit of Reconciliation, we would like to acknowledge the traditional owners of the land on which our centre is situated- The Wurundjeri people.  We acknowledge and care for this valued place of learning.  We recognise the importance of building relationships and maintaining connections through learning and sharing the stories of life, land and being.  We promise to look after the land, the animals, the plants and each other.

Covid-19 Update

We understand that some families may feel anxious about enrolling their children into Kindergarten and child care. The advice from the Victorian Chief Health Officer and the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC) is that ECEC services are low-risk environments, and they can operate with appropriate health and safety measures in place –unless otherwise instructed by the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).  Restrictions on early childhood services were put in place to reduce the number of people moving around the community, not because services are unsafe places for children or staff.  As well as having a COVIDSafe plan, we have been following a number of additional health and safety measures, including: temperature screening, hand hygiene, managing unwell children and staff, face coverings and physical distancing of adults, extra cleaning of surfaces, toys and equipment where possible.

We appreciate all of our families’ efforts to stay connected with our service and to support their children’s learning, play, curiosity and wellbeing during this difficult time.
